ABOUT US

Since our establishment in 1865, Schraffl's entrepreneurial philosophy has been marked by a continuous pursuit of success and quality, passed down from generation to generation. Our history is characterized by significant milestones and meaningful events that have shaped our company:

1865

1865

The master carpenter Kandidus Schraffl (1840 – 1895) lays the foundation stone for the company in 1865 with the founding of a carpentry business in San Candido in house no. 61 (today 5 Sesto street). He is the keeper of the guild chest of the craftsmen's community of the village. Kandidus develops the first water-powered woodturning machine.

1905

1905

The son of the company's founder, Kandidus II, took over the business after his father had died at an early age due to an industrial accident. With craftsmanship and a great love of tradition, his descendants led the carpentry business to steadily growing success, despite difficult economic times and the turmoil of the Second World War. A lot of hard work and great cohesion led to a future-strong success in the years to come.

1947

1947

After the death of his father, Kandidus III takes over the carpentry workshop and expands the business. He acquires the large workshop building of the second Franz Prey and fills it with new life. With innovative machines—thought up and constructed by the company boss himself—high quality furniture is now produced.

1977

1977

Kandidus IV joins the company. Future-oriented and with vision, he vouches for the connection of the tradition-rich company to the modern age.

1988

1988

In 1988, the workshop in Monguelfo was acquired and equipped with the latest technical achievements in wood processing. Through innovative production techniques, trained and qualified employees and powerful machines, customised living dreams are now realised. A furniture shop is opened in San Candido.

1996

1996

A branch of the furniture store is opened in Brunico.

This branch impresses with products from prestigious international furniture manufacturers.

2000
